4/20/2025 This weekend I tried increasing the dose of Alpha Brain to what Joe Rogan noted on his podcast, 3-4 capsules before a 3-hour podcast recording. I have been taking the recommended dose of 2 capsules per day and have had little to no results. I decided to try what Joe Rogan takes to see if there was a difference. Here are the results.
I took the initial dose of 3 capsules on Saturday morning. Even after having a relatively relaxing day finished by a few hours of cleaning in the house, I saw little difference in energy, focus, or memory. By 9pm I was exhausted and should have gone to bed except there were still things to do for Easter morning. I went to bed at midnight and didn’t wake up until 10am. I wasn’t rested and it was a struggle to get myself out of bed. By noon, after having breakfast and my morning routine of supplements, I still was not fully awake and felt groggy with mental fog. That morning, I also took 3 capsules with no improved results. This afternoon I recorded a review for the Joe Rogan dose of Alpha Brain and a few other videos for the week. It was a struggle and I was having bouts of mental fog while recording. I still have a few days left of Alpha Brain to go and I am not expecting any different results during that time. I guess this is just more proof that advertising and sponsorships don’t mean that a product works or is of good quality. At this point I hope that my reviews of Alpha Brain will bring in enough revenue to cover the cost of buying the bottle because that is about as much as I will ever get out of it.
Looking back, Alpha Brain might have been ahead of its time but with the dosage and ingredients not changing over the decade plus it has been out doesn’t do the company any favors. Research on nootropics have continued since Alpha brain was released and the company has not kept up with the latest dosage, refusing to change their formula while other cheaper products hit he market with more up to date formulas. I hope that ONNIT learns from this and decides to go back to the drawing board to correct their mistakes. When the name behind the product has to double the dose for his own personal use perhaps that is a wake-up sign to do some more research. Alas, that was years ago and nothing has changed. If a product sells due to advertising and name recognition why change anything?
