Looking back, it has been a few days since my last post. Things have died down on the Nootropics end of things with Alpha Brain not being the supplement that it was supposed to be. I noticed the difference when I switched over from the Med Choice brand and haven’t been impressed. After doing a little research I found that the dosage for Alpha Brain isn’t up to par with the resent data. When it first came out over a decade ago it was a new product that offered something that others didn’t have. For people that had never used nootropics before you could see a change and for some it might appear to work. I’m not saying that I went down the road of Charlie from Flowers for Algernon, but my motivation and energy isn’t where it used to be. My diet and exercise routine hasn’t changed at all so at the moment the only factor that changed was the nootropic I am taking.
I shouldn’t be surprised by this considering that Joe Rogan himself admitted on his podcast that he takes four capsules before doing a 3-hour podcast, twice the recommended dose. Why a person would need to double the dose to notice the effects isn’t clear other than Rogan might have noticed the older recipe that hasn’t been changed since it was first introduced isn’t cut it.
Along with these changes I also noticed a dip in energy half way through the day. This is something that had disappeared while I was taking Med Choice.
I will finish Alpha Brain to see if anything changes. Considering the price I won’t be upping the dose. If I need to take 3 capsules per day to maintain the same effect of other brands it is not worth the price.
